Had a pretty exciting (yet boring) day, which consisted of waking up at 11:30AM, getting ready for the movies in 5 minutes, and catching an 11:40AM Harry Potter movie, then movie hopping to see Shrek 2 and The Day After Tomorrow. I'll post a review toward the bottom of the post, and I'll bold it for you fuckers who don't like spoilers. =P
Note to the Lizard: I'm not gonna make my career as an AMV-er, y'know. =P I just wanted to try it out, I might make a few more, but making movies really isn't my thing. Just thought I'd leech off of your ideas (what a surprise!). Thanks for the program, though. If I get really bored one day, I'll keep that in mind. =)
Also, I like your thoughts about Chapter 219. Sasuke has a whole load of shit going on in his life. I hate how the Gaara fan girls (who hate Sasuke and call him arrogant) say shit like "Really, Gaara's a good person! He's just had a fucked up childhood!" Well, do you think Sasuke had a pleasant fucking childhood? I've already seen a number of people saying "He betrayed the village! OMGF! I will NEVER forgive him!" Yet, coincidentally, you can forgive Gaara who almost killed Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke, who almost RUINED Lee's career as a ninja, yet you won't be able to forgive Sasuke when you don't even KNOW the outcome of this series of events? That's a bit fucked up.
On a completely different note, I read a hilarious thread on a different message board that said that Itachi murdered his clan because he didn't like the pokeball symbol that his clan had to wear on their clothes. =P *laughs sadistically* Wha.
On a different note, this is my last week of middle school. I have two full days, Monday and Tuesday, and the rest of the week are halfdays. Have a graduation buffet to go to on Monday, Pizza Luncheon on Thursday, and finally, graduation ceremony on Friday. Sad, I still have an Algebra exam for high school to take on Tuesday (which I most likely will flunk).
Shifting subjects again (notorious for incoherency, y'know >>) I can't get my linksys router to work. So now only one computer has internet connection outta three in my house. Thankfully, it's mine. Gotta ask my uncle how to fix this. Unless I get bored and read the manual, but I see no chance of that happening. Speaking of uncle, he's gonna be moving to Arizona in a month. *sigh* There goes my second family member lost in the past year...
Time for the movie reviews.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Wasn't particularly thrilled with this one. There weren't enough effects, and they left out a shitload of information. For one, they left out all explanations of the Moony, Padfoot, Wormtail, and (insert other one here). I thought that was a lot of information to include, because I bet Harry is wondering how all four of them were associated. Didn't really like Remus' actor. I imagined him a bit more laid back, and soft-spoken, but he really wasn't. In the flashbacks in the book, he was the one who was laid back, and didn't pick on Snape as much as the others. Speaking of Snape, they didn't include any flashbacks of him getting picked on! They also didn't show Snape giving any werewolf remedies to Lupin, which I thought was a big key to figuring out that he was a werewolf. I mean, Hermione just kinda figured out just because Snape did a lesson on it. =| I did like Sirius' actor, though. A lot scarier than I perceived him to be in the book; however, I don't think he was as played out in the movie as in the book. There was a lot of mention of him being this mean, nasty, killer who destroyed Peter Pettigrew and left only a finger and such. Wasn't that much in the movie. There wasn't enough magic in the story, either, and to tell you the truth, the book was kinda rushed. The bus in the beginning only had like two minutes, there wasn't that much information on the Minister of Magic, Hagrid's lessons, Trelawney's classes, Hogsmeade, and regular other characters. The characters we saw in the past two movies were scarce in this one. Overall, the movie is pretty good, but if you already read the book, you'll have some doubts. Oh, on one final note, the older Dumbledore was better. *frowns*
Shrek 2 Came in 10 or 15 minutes late on this one, but I'm not worrying, since it was still a pretty good movie. My favorite line was when Donkey told Pinnochio to lie so that his nose would grow longer. So Pinnochio says "I'm wearing woman's underwear!" The nose doesn't grow. Then he says, "I'm not wearing woman's underwear!" The nose grows. =P Pretty corny, but still funny. Then the gingerbread snaps Pinnochio's underwear and says "HE'S WEARING A THONG!" And the cat (I think his name was Puss n' Boots or something - Puss) was hilarious. =P Good movie, but if you're one of those Maddox-type people, you'll come out of the theatre with a grim expession on your face. Lighten up!
The Day After Tomorrow Scary movie. Not because it was actually horrifying, but because it was so real. I mean, the whole collapse of our society today can really occur if we don't use our resources wisely. Really, the only thing in this world that we have no control over (that could cause mass deaths) is natural disaster. What if that did happen? What if there were only a few hundred people left on earth? And our civilization as we've known it for thousands of years disappears before our very eyes? What if a new Ice Age was right before our eyes and we had to completely reshape our definition of life? What if there was no such thing as territory? What if all walks of life had to start over together, and communicate with seldom knowledge of the other language? It could happen. God, I'm so gonna dwell on this for the rest of my life. =P Out of the three movies, I recommend this one. Great movie, great effects. It actually showed hurricanes destroying Los Angeles. It showed New York City in ruins under a hundred feet of snow. It showed the statue of liberty with ice and snow up to her stomach. Pretty scary, since. It. Could. Happen.
Anyway, I just got an email saying that my Full Metal Alchemist plushie won't be in until October 2004. -_- Do you know how long of a wait that is?! By that time I'll hear some nerds discussing the dub. =|
After the movie, I came home and took a nap due to my immense headache. Woke up and it was gone. I suppose that's what you get for watching three movies in a row. Oh, and if you're wondering, I movie hopped since there were hardly any workers at the theatre. Three movies for the price of one. Not bad at all. =) counted stars at
